Religions in the UK has become the standard work of reference on the United Kingdom's faith communities, thier organisations and palces of worship. It is the product of a joint project between The Multi-Faith Centre at the University of Derby and the University of Derby's Faculty of Education, Health and Sciences, and builds upon previous collaborations with the Inter Faith Network for the UK in its 1993, 1997 and 2001 editions.

The 2001 edition won the SHAP Working Party on World Religions in Education annual award for making 'an outstanding contribution to the teaching of world religions'. This updated and improved fourth edition of Religions in the UK builds on the previous three editions with the following improvements: 

• Expanded and updated contact details for religious organisations available now on CD-ROM 
• Details now included on Christian places of worship
• Additional information on many of the listed organisations
• Fully revised chapter on the religious landscape of the UK and the role of its faith communities in public life

The Directory is edited by Paul Weller, Professor of Inter-Religious Relations at the University of Derby (Faculty of Education, Health and Sciences) and Visiting Fellow of the Centre for Christianity and Culture, at Regent's Park College, University of Oxford.
