Welcome to The Multi-Faith Centre

The Centre's Purpose and Origins

The Centre exists to promote mutual understanding between people of different faiths and beliefs and to build respect between people as fellow human beings.

The Centre is a shared space where people are invited to speak freely and fearlessly, in the spirit of Listen to others as you want them to listen to you.

The Original idea emerged from the grassroots in a group drawn from the local Baha'i, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim and Sikh communities alongside the University of Derby. The Design Brief and fundraising were achievements of inter-faith dialogue.

The Future

The Centre Trustees have resolved to focus the main efforts on high profile events, projects and conferences of regional or national significance. In parallel a network of local "ambassadors" will strengthen connections with all parts of the local community. The Centre has a small library of religious/non-religious books.

The Multi-Faith Centre is a registered charity no 1087140
